A Melting Pot of Piecing Traditions
Julie, I love this! Great way to study value. A request for you. Next few blocks, can you jumble the units from different combinations on the design wall and take a picture before you sew them into.the blocks from.combo of two fabrics? I wish I wasn't packing my fabrics away. I wanted to try tis and make a really scrappy looking quilt for a while. May be once the move is done!
Funny you suggested that - I tried it with Midtown Vibe but was too far along to actually use that approach. I was going to to the jumble with the black and white version but the simple graphic contrast was cleaner and stronger this way. I do want to try the jumble version but with a colored palette . . . OH - when you get moved and ready to stitch, let me know - we could swap some jumbled blocks to intensify the scrappy look for both of us!
Love your black & white! You've given me an idea! All I need is more time in a day.
This is looking really effective in the b & w, I love it!
Very effective in black and white
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond.
