Audrey's Tipsy Geese

"Tipsy Geese" made by Audrey over at Quilty Folk. She says she is not a big fan of the process of making improv quilts. I love her folk art quilts. I do consider them improve as she does lot of applique. Visit her blog to see what she has to say about this process.

  2. No, no, no. I LOVE improv. quilts! I positively drool over them.:) It's just very difficult for me to make them. For some reason the process makes me feel inept and completely out of my depth, but I'm trying to conquer my fears and learn regardless. I'm hoping that by diving in to this sort of piecing, I'll be able to make better and more 'me' quilts. Thanks for reposting my little quilt over here--it never could have happened without your wonderful book!

    1. Audrey, My mistake...What I should have said is you don't enjoy making improvised quilts. I see your folk art, (as you know they are my primary source of inspiration for most of my quilts) and always am impressed. You do great work, and write amazing stories. I am glad you worked through your fears. I now only hope you will walk on the other side of the line every once in a while :)

  6. "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Improv, scrappy, folk art. So many quilts to love! So many fears to conquer.

  7. Great quilt, your use of colors, contrast, light and dark, is what makes it stand out.
