I realized after posting a photo of the third African rail baby quilt, that I had not posted a picture here of #2.

Baby Rail Fence #3 Finished!
This is the third and final baby rail fence quilt for a local organization. I have used up all but one of the blocks I cut. I consider that a good use of materials!

Isfahan
In October I posted a photo of a quilt top in progress which began life as my version
of Organised Chaos by Sujata, but took a different direction
when I decided to use just one fabric for the corners of the blocks and
one fabric for the outer triangles.
I had in mind a vision of an old Persian carpet, hence
Isfahan was born.
To those who may have seen this before on my Mystic Quilter
blog, apologies for the double viewing.
I absolutely loved making this, lots of colour
and the fabrics used are Kaffe Fassett Collective ones
and batiks.
Bring on another Kaleidoscope!!

African-themed baby Quilt
I used Sujata's Rail Fence pattern to make this African-fabric themed baby quilt. The finished size needs to be 23" x 36", so I downsized the blocks a bit to make it work. I cut the WOF strips at 5", trimmed them to 4" after sewing together. The unfinished block size is 4", finishing in the quilt at 3.5"The unfinished block size is 4", finishing in the quilt at 3.5" I alternated the blocks that have African fabric with plain background squares, thinking I wouldn't have enough African fabric otherwise. Hah! Silly me. I had enough strips and blocks to make another one which is currently unfinished on the design wall.
