Borders On!

I sewed the blocks together and added a plain border. I could have taken the easy way out and stopped there, but instead I took the time to make half square triangles for the border.  I'm glad I did!

I was working from scraps and was OUT of golds.  I rounded up the browns, introduced a couple new ones, and stitched them up with a variety of cream prints.  Do you think it needs another gold border???

Hourglass Blocks

In my first experience with crooked hourglass blocks, I went off on a tangent:

I enjoyed them so much that I made more.  This is on the design wall now.  It's all I have of these golds and browns, so I'll stop here.  But I have more hourglass ideas in my head!

Back from oh so many things!

Without going into details of any of my trips, I wonder if I can just post a few pictures of what I have been up to.

Here is the latest finished quilt. I call it "Postcards from Thailand"
I used total of six blocks from the book to create this medallion.

This quilt is very special to me because it marks our latest vacation to Thailand with our daughter, Kavita.

We had so many wonderful, hilarious moments, I am thankful for being able to visit so many places and meet fabulous quilters.

I am also glad to be back home to my sewing machine. Today was a start of a new quilt and can't wait to put it together and share it with you all.

Windmill Quilt Top

After finishing this top, I posted it on another other blog but never wrote about it here. I made this from scraps my sister planned to donate. Instead she has a quilt for one of their outreach programs.
