Stitched up!

After having these blocks on the wall for what seems
like ages I came up at last with this arrangement, one I
was pretty happy with, although I still have an issue with the solids!!

I had a different setting the first time I posted a layout
but I think the diagonal zig-zag is  best given the fabrics I've used.

I had made two alternative blocks  to take the place
of the turquoise on the left and the dark green at centre top,
but in the end I decided not to be beaten and persevered!
Sorry about the odd thread hanging here and there, not got around to
the tidy up session yet.

Now I can get on with cutting the fabrics (KF Collective) that have been put
aside waiting for this one to be finished. Rail Fence No2 will be
far more colourful.

Sujata, this is a great pattern - thank you!

  1. I know how you feel about solids in this quilt but I still think they let your prints stand out and create a nice background. Large prints add so much contrast to the quilt. Yellow tones of flowers make this quilt spark! Yay for sticking with the quilt!!!

  2. It looks great and I love the solids with your tropical prints. The perle cotton quilting will really add to it I think. Looking forward to seeing the next one. And, hopefully I will have something to show soon.

    1. Thanks Julie, yes I think the quilting, which will be mostly on the solids, should add quite a lot to the look of this quilt.

    1. Oh thank you Margaret. I agree with your comment on the play out compared tho the previous one - the green and the turquoise don't seem too obvious set this way.
