Another Take on "Peppermint Pinwheels"

I like small projects that I can get finished!  This was made with one fat quarter batik and one fat quarter of a custom designed muslin (Sharpie Tie Dye) and just a little bit of orange accent.  I find myself using orange quite a lot.  Happy color!

  1. Oh I love this Lori! The orange just pops beautifully with the blue and picks up on the touch of a orange in the batik.

  2. How beautiful is this? Sharpie tie dye? I have never tried it. It looks beautiful! Did you make it as a gift or yourself?

    1. We played around in my art quilt group. Iron muslin to freezer paper. That stabilizes the fabric so that you can draw with the Sharpies. Keeps the table clean too. Then use a dropper with rubbing alcohol to make the colors bleed. Heat set with an iron when dry. I also ironed it to freezer paper a second time to add accents with fine black Sharpies.

    1. The more I look at this, the more it reminds me of The Summer of Love. The 50th anniversary was this year. Peace out!
