Caroline, Thanks for sharing this video. I had never heard of ladies going door to door for business. I saved my mother's two saris from her last visit. I want to make a summer quilt one day. Such a simple concept. Most quilters in India do either a fat back to front binding or fold under like this woman did. Women take the folded under binding one step further with an embroidery stitch to secure the edges.
Can't get more environmentally friendly than this! Brilliant, love her confidence....even when making 'waggas' I agonise:). Thanks for taking the time to record this technique.
