Happy Strings

This is my quilt named Happy Strings.

It was originally conceived as a scrappy pink and orange quilt

but the color blocks and linear design also relate to

the challenge quilt Sujata shared HERE . . . 

I used pieces of leftover backing fabrics 

to create a deliriously scrappy back.

When I was piecing Midtown Vibe,

I considered mixing up some of the block segments.

I saved these photos for future reference --

and I'm pretty sure this is what Sujata meant

in her comment on my previous post . . .

the Toran pattern in Sujata's new book..

(I had placed my pre-order for the book 

the very first day Sujata shared the news on her blog,

so I was VERY happy when it finally arrived!)
